Rachel Keller is a fictional character from The Ring film series. The character created by Rachel Keller was invented by Ehren Kruger. Naomi Watts plays the role. Rachel has to look into the past of Samara Morgan who is her son, in The Ring Two. Ruth, Rachel's sister, asks Rachel to look into the mysterious circumstances that led to Katie's sudden death. She informs Rachel that she discovered her daughter's disfigured corpse in the closet and the official cause of her death was due to a heart attack, despite Katie being an incredibly healthy teenager. Katie's family members tell Rachel about the legend surrounding the cursed videotape , and also that Becca Katie's best friend was confined after Katie's death. Katie's boyfriend, and two of her best acquaintances, also passed away in strange accidents that occurred on the same night , at 10:30 pm. Rachel is on her way to Shelter Mountain Inn to Cabin 12 where Katie and her friends looked at the cursed videotape. Rachel finds the tape and plays the tape. The phone rings. Rachel hears a voice utter "seven days". Rachel is able to call Noah Clay, her ex-boyfriend and a video analyst to seek help. Rachel finds out later that Aidan (her son who is with Noah) watched the tape, and told her that he believed what she said. Rachel examines the lighthouse found on the tape and discovers it is located on Moesko Island, the home of an ill-fated horse breeder known as Anna Morgan, who appeared on the cursed videotape. Rachel finds out that Anna had an adopted daughter, Samara. She was capable of creating disturbing images in the minds humans, animals, and objects. Rachel meets Anna's widower Richard. Richard insists that Rachel go away as when she starts asking questions about Samara.
