Garena's Garena first league (GPL) was introduced in May 2012. It is a professional online gaming event that lasts for 6 months and features over 100 games. The GPL's first season includes six teams made up of professionals League of Legends players. Each team is comprised of top players from their respective nations. GPL games are filmed and live streamed online with commentary. These games are made available for viewers to view on the GPL's official website. Garena Premier League 2013, which began on 4 January 2013 will feature two new teams: one each coming from Taiwan as well as Vietnam. It brings the total number of teams to eight. AHQ, Saigon Fantastic Five, Bangkok Titans, Kuala Lumpur Hunters, Manila Eagles, Taipei Assassins, and Singapore Sentinels are the teams. In November 2014, the Garena Electronic Sports Stadium, an esports-specific venue began operations located in Neihu District, Taipei. The stadium was constructed partially to facilitate the launch of the League of Legends Masters Series The top-level Taiwan, Hong Kong, as well as the Macau LoL league, which is a an offshoot of the GPL. In January of 2015, Garena launched Iron Solari League which is a women's League of Legends tournament in the Philippines. This is a bi-monthly event which takes place during the second and third quarters of each month. The event is meant to encourage participation in people who aren't represented, and is for anyone who self-identifies as a woman. Garena not only organizes tournaments but also events that are offline and social events that enable users to interact. Garena organizes the Garena Festivals in Singapore, Malaysia and other nations.
