Awkwafina
Awkwafina was an American actor and musician who made her name with clever raps that tackled the issues of sexuality and race with a a boldly comic perspective. Her career then grew into Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants who resided in Forest Hills Queens. Her first experience with music came through the instrument of trumpet. In the following years, she took up hip-hop and classical training. In the college years, she remained focused on her studies. She took up a degree in women's studies as well as journalism. For a brief period of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. It wasn't until she began focusing on music until after she completed her degree. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet eventually landing on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. On the album, there were other viral hits including Queef (body-positive) and NYC Bitchethe cost of $. This track was directly linked to another project, Awkwafina's NYC A travel guide that was released in 2015. She decided to pursue acting careers after having completed her two previous projects, as an author and musician. Alongside early shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films such as Neighbors to Storks. In the year 2018 she got a series of notable parts, including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. Then in June, she launched the EP In Fina We Trust.
